IN MORE DETAIL

Why we're different.

Not simply another cattle-listing website — a more targeted, responsive way to find and trade cattle directly.

01. Reach the right market.

The right cattle. The right farmers. The right place. The right time. OpenLivestock is being developed around relevance rather than simply broadcasting every opportunity to everybody. For sellers, that means helping cattle reach buyers beyond their normal trading circle. For buyers, it means increasingly relevant opportunities rather than unnecessary noise.

03. Keep control of the trade.

OpenLivestock connects buyer and seller without trying to replace the relationship between them. You can speak directly, ask questions, agree price, payment and collection, and decide whether the deal is right for you. Your cattle. Your buyer. Your final deal.

05. Choose how you trade.

Different cattle need different routes. Buy Now gives sellers a direct route to market. Timed Auction gives registered buyers the opportunity to compete while the seller retains a confidential reserve.

02. Active marketing, not just a listing.

Putting cattle online is easy. Getting the right farmers to see them is the important part. OpenLivestock can support listings through website visibility, direct member communications, WhatsApp, email, Facebook and targeted promotion. The aim is not simply to list cattle — it is to create a market around them.

04. Trade farm-to-farm.

Cattle do not need to travel to a physical market simply to be offered for sale. They can be marketed while remaining on farm and, once a deal is agreed, move directly between seller and buyer. Another route to market — without the trip to market.

06. Simple, transparent costs.

For sellers, OpenLivestock currently charges 1% commission on a successful sale, subject to published minimum and maximum charges. Buyers currently pay no OpenLivestock commission. The principle is simple: OpenLivestock benefits when a successful trade takes place.
