1. What we collect

Account data: name, email, password (hashed), telephone, address, role (buyer/seller/both).

Listing data (sellers): cattle details, images, videos, pricing signals (Buy - Now, reserve).

Auction registration: attendance, bidder number, Zoom join status.

Communications: messages to us, reviews, support queries.

Usage and device data: pages viewed, log files, IP address, browser, cookies/analytics.

Payments to us: limited billing data for our commission invoices (we do not process buyer→seller payments).
2. How we use your data and legal bases

Provide the service (create accounts, host listings, run BIN and Zoom auctions, introduce buyer and seller, issue seller invoices) – contract.

Safety and integrity (identity checks, fraud prevention, moderation, enforcing the Code) – legitimate interests and legal obligation.

Comms (service emails about registrations, auctions, policy updates) – contract/legitimate interests.

Analytics and improvements – legitimate interests.

Marketing (optional updates) – consent; you can withdraw at any time.
3. Sharing your data
We share limited data with:

Hosting and site providers.

Zoom for live auctions (name, email for registration).

Email and CRM tools for service messages.

Payment/invoicing tools to bill sellers for our commission.

Professional advisers and authorities where required by law or to protect rights.
We do not sell personal data.
4. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses plus supplementary safeguards.
5. Retention

Account and listing records – while your account is active and for up to 6 years after closure (for tax, accounting and audit).

Logs and analytics – typically 12–24 months.

Auction recordings and chat logs – typically 12 months, unless required longer for compliance.
6. Your rights
You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, data portability, and to withdraw consent (for marketing/cookies). You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Please contact us first so we can help.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege administration. No system is perfectly secure.
8. Children
This service is for UK business users aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
