More buyers.
More competition.
Better opportunities.

Our Mission
When it comes to selling cattle, most people naturally focus on the quality of the stock. And rightly so.

Good genetics, strong health, correct presentation and the right timing all play an important role in achieving a successful sale. But there is another factor that can be just as important.

Buyer competition.

Put simply, buyers cannot compete for cattle they never see. The more genuine buyers who become aware of a sale, the greater the opportunity for competitive interest and stronger commercial outcomes.

Traditionally, livestock trading has often been shaped by geography. Buyers and sellers have typically operated within established local networks, relationships and trading routes. Those connections remain important today, but technology now provides an opportunity to place livestock in front of a much wider audience – something OpenLivestock offers to sellers.

That wider visibility can create more opportunities for buyers and sellers to connect.

At OpenLivestock, every listing is targeted to reach beyond a single location or trading circle. Livestock is promoted through the platform and shared across our growing digital audience, helping to put stock in front of genuine buyers from across the sector.

To put that into context, one recent livestock listing promoted through OpenLivestock was viewed 3,262 times by 2,440 people on Facebook alone before the stock was sold. More importantly, that visibility generated multiple enquiries from prospective buyers, creating the opportunity for genuine competition and helping the seller reach a successful outcome.

Our aim is simple: increase visibility and create more opportunities for competition. OpenLivestock doesn't determine the value of your cattle. Buyers and sellers do that together. What we can do though is help ensure that more people have the opportunity to see what's available.

Because while quality livestock will always be the foundation of a successful sale, competition remains one of the most powerful drivers of value.

Simply put: More buyers means more competition, which creates better opportunities all round.
